Game servers use FadeHost's **managed databases**: real MySQL, PostgreSQL or Redis instances you create under **Databases** in the panel, from $2/mo (one free 512MB database is included with every verified account).

Every database lives on your [private network](/docs/private-network/): your game servers and bots reach it by its `db-…` hostname with no public exposure, and you can join your own computer to query it from your IDE. An optional public endpoint exists for tools that need it.

See the [Databases guide](/docs/databases/) for creation, connection strings per plugin, backups and limits.

> The old shared "every server comes with MySQL" system was retired in August 2026. Databases are now dedicated, isolated instances instead of tables on a shared box. If a plugin still points at the old shared host, create a database and update the plugin's config with the new hostname and credentials.
