A Railway alternative with a price you know in advance
Railway bills by usage: CPU and memory by the second, plus $0.05 for every gigabyte that leaves. New accounts get 30 days and $5 of credits, then the free plan is $1 a month, so the bill is not known until the month ends. Here the first bot is free, a 1 GB always-on tier is a flat $2 a month, and the web address comes with it.
The worked example
Railway's rates are $0.00000772 per vCPU-second and $0.00000386 per GB-second, which comes to about $20 a month per vCPU and $10 a month per gigabyte of memory, plus $0.05 for every gigabyte of traffic out. A small bot idling at 256 MB with a sliver of CPU is in the region of $2.50 a month for the memory alone, more when it is busy, so the free plan's $1 a month runs out well before the month does. New accounts get 30 days and $5 of credits first; after that the free plan is capped at 1 vCPU, 0.5 GB of memory and 0.5 GB of volume storage per service. Paid usage starts at $5 a month minimum on Hobby and $20 on Pro.
Here the same bot is free on the 256 MB tier, and $2 a month buys 1 GB that never sleeps, with no per-second meter and no line for traffic. The web address at https://name.fadehost.app comes with every app, free and paid, and up to three of your own hostnames can point at it: Railway's free plan allows one custom domain during the trial and none after it, and Hobby two.
Railway's numbers come from its own pricing page in October 2026; check them before deciding, they change.
Moving from Railway
- The service already deploys from GitHub; connect the same repository here.
- Variables become environment variables in the panel.
- A Railway Postgres or Redis becomes a managed database here; dump and import.
- A web service gets its web address with the plan; a worker needs none.
What a flat price changes
Nothing here is metered. A tier is a tier: the app can run flat out all month and the bill is the number it was at the start of it. There are no CPU seconds to read, no memory seconds, no traffic to price and no credit to run out halfway through. Every app carries its own web address, and several apps sit on one account and one private network next to the databases.
Frequently asked questions
Is there a usage meter here?
No. Tiers are flat: 256 MB free, 1 GB $2, 2 GB $3, 4 GB $6. There is no charge for CPU seconds, memory seconds or traffic out; the free tier has a fair-use budget aimed at proxies, far above what a bot moves.
Does the web address cost extra?
No. Every app answers at https://name.fadehost.app with HTTPS, free and paid alike, and up to three of your own hostnames can point at it with the certificate handled for you.
Can I run several services?
Yes, each as its own app on the account, all on one private network with the databases.
Do templates exist?
Discord, Telegram and WhatsApp bot templates, a server status page, a whitelist application form and a community website, all deployed in one click.
Is there a trial for paid tiers?
The free tier is permanent, and a 7-day trial of the game server product needs no card.
