Kick, ban and pardon players

Moderation is four commands. They work from the Console tab, or in game for operators.

Kick

kick Steve Take a break

Removes the player now with the message you add. They can rejoin.

Ban and pardon

ban Steve Griefing spawn
pardon Steve
banlist

A ban keeps the player out until you pardon them. banlist shows who is banned; the Players panel has a Banned filter with the same list.

Ban an address

ban-ip 203.0.113.7
pardon-ip 203.0.113.7

Use it for a player who comes back under new names. Addresses change, so pair it with a whitelist on a private server.

Good to know

• Bans live in banned-players.json and banned-ips.json in the server folder; the commands edit them for you.
• Operators can be banned too; deop them first with deop <name>.
• A moderation plugin such as LiteBans or EssentialsX adds temporary bans and reasons shown to the player. Install it from Resources, Plugins.
