Move your Minecraft server from GGServers
Moving is three steps: get the files out of GGServers, put them here with the importer, point your players at the new address. Your world, plugins or mods and configs come along; nothing is retyped.
1. Get the files out of GGServers
GGServers runs the Multicraft panel at mc.ggservers.com. Files, FTP File Access signs you into a web file client with your Multicraft password, and GGServers points at FileZilla, WinSCP or Cyberduck for anything large; the same host, port, username and password go into the importer. The world sits in the server root and the panel’s World box shows its folder name, world by default, with world_nether and world_the_end beside it on Paper. Note the server type and version from the panel before you start. An extra port added under Advanced, Additional Port for a plugin such as dynmap does not travel, so that config needs the new port after the import.
2. Bring them here
- Create the server on FadeHost with the same software and Minecraft version as the old one. Do not start it yet.
- More for this server, Import from another host (also under Settings, Import).
- Choose SFTP or FTP and enter the old host’s details, or upload the zip you downloaded. Pick what to pull: the world, plugins or mods, configs.
- Start the server and read the console. A plugin that stored the old address or an absolute path needs a config edit.
3. Switch the address
Players take the new address from the server page, or from the join page you share. A custom domain moves by changing its SRV record, or by connecting the domain in Settings, General, Your own domain. Keep GGServers for a day while people switch, then cancel it: Services, My Services, the service, Request Cancellation, then Immediate or End of Billing Cycle. If you paid through PayPal, cancel the PayPal subscription there as well, and import before you cancel, because GGServers deletes the files when the service is terminated.
What is different here
- The price is per gigabyte, not per plan: 4 GB is 4 GB, and RAM changes any day without a migration.
- Player slots are a setting, not a plan tier. See Difficulty, gamemode and slots.
- Modpacks, plugins and mods install from the panel; the crash doctor explains a failed boot in plain words.
